Aurora's famous partners in Italy, Germany and Russia are responsible for testing the biological activity of the selected substances in different human and animal cell lines. For example, substances can be tested for their influence on cytopathogenic effects. The influence of substances on cell viability will be determined by viability assays.

Preclinical studies of compounds will be performed by our partner at Novosibirsk State University, Russian Federation. In order to analyze the health risks of exposure to the compounds, toxicity preparations will be studied on different animal models (mice and rats) via oral administration (per os). Selected compounds and their metabolites are then subjected to complex kinetic processes including enterohepatic cycling and presystemic metabolism. Consequently, pharmacokinetic studies are the most important part of the preclinical studies of novel preparations. Pharmacokinetic studies will be continued in the preliminary experimental data to create new preparations with high bioavailability (up to 60%) and half-life (up to 24 hours). Pharmacokinetic parameters of preparations will be evaluated quantitatively after the oral administration to rats in different doses by means of measurements in plasma, urea and bile using ultraviolet spectroscopy method and high performance liquid chromatography analysis.
